The Met premiere of Matthew Aucoin and Sarah Ruhl’s new opera will star Erin Morley, Joshua Hopkins, and Jakub Józef Orliński. The Met Premiere of Terence Blanchard will star Angel Blue, Latonia Moore, and Will Liverman. The opera will be presented in its original 1869 version. René Pape headlines a cast that includes Alexey Markov, Stanislav Trofimov, David Butt Philip, Ain Anger, and Maxim Paster. The Metropolitan Opera has announced the HD schedule for its 2021-22 season, which will feature 10 performances.
